Snuck
India Mysore Gold Nugget’ intriguing name, right? Well, it is an intriguing coffee and even has a captivating history to boot. Mysore is located in the southwest region of India. The Mysore area was mined in the late 1800's with the intent on finding coal, but they instead yielded gold in average quantities. The trees that are grown in that same Mysore region produce a very large bean size, hence the name, nugget.
So how did coffee get to India to begin with? Baba Budan is the man to thank for taking what was once contained to one small part of the world, and bringing it to India on the way home from his pilgrimage to Arabia. Upon returning home, Budan strapped seven fertile beans to his belly and snuck them out of the country. He arrived home, planted them and well… now here we are offering you India Mysore.
